- 'Certificate in Training & Development' - Thames Valley University (Part-time, 2 years, which was recognised by CIPD, leading to 'Associate Membership', 1984).
- 'Training the Trainers' - FPA Training (9 days, 1990).
- 'Training the Trainers' - 'Voluntary Action Leicester' (3 days, 1990).
- 'Certificate in Youth & Community Development' - 'Leicester Polytechnic' (Full-time, 2 years, 1987-89 - Professionally recognised youth & community development qualification).

Since 1989 until 2008, I worked as a trainer/educator with 'Leicestershire AIDS Support Services (LASS)', primarily regarding HIV/AIDS but also other health and social issues & concerns, including Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and issues to do with Children/Families, Asylum Seekers/Refugees, BME communities, Criminal Prosecution of HIV Transmission, Health & Safety, Personal Safety, Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities, Befriending and related-aspects when involved as a Volunteer.
During the 18 years I was employed with LASS, I recruited and trained over 450 Volunteers and also trained over 17,000 people from most local groups and organisations, whether small community groups, Housing organisations, Police, Prison Service, Health and Local Authorities, especially health & social care.
I have also had many years experience in Health & Fitness; Sports Work; Athletics Coaching; Teaching and Coaching (including Circuit Training, Weight Training, Recreational Gymnastics & Pre-School Gym/Movement/Fundamental Skills with Children); Theatre/Drama; Youth & Community Work; and also Volunteering & Volunteering Development.
From the many thousands of evaluations I have received through my training work, I have always been consistently highly regarded and rated. As an example, over 6 years (covering 206 different sessions with 2376 people) I received an overall score as a trainer of 10908 out of 11930 (91% rating), an average score per person of 4.6 out of a possible 5.0 (‘Good/Very Good’); with ‘Presentation’ being rated at 88% (an average of 4.4); and ‘Enjoyment’ rated at 86% (an average of 4.3); and relating to Equal Opportunities issues at 87% (an average of 4.0). Overall, receiving a total score of 106314 out of a possible 119300 (89% satisfaction), an average score per participant of 4.5 out of 5.0 ("Good/Very Good").
I have thousands of complementary comments from participants regarding my work and training, the benefits it has made to them, and my “knowledgeable”, “friendly”, “relaxed” and “participatory approach”, treating people as individuals with “respect” and “courtesy”, which gives me immense satisfaction and confidence.
- Leicestershire AIDS Support Services (LASS) - 'Training Development Officer' (1989-95)/'Training & Development Manager' (1995-2008): A major trainer/educator for Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, having created, developed, promoted, administrated and delivered an extensive, respected and well evaluated Training Programme, including talks, presentations & workshops, for over 17,000 people (paid and voluntary workers), from hundreds of varied groups and organisations from voluntary, statutory and private sectors, involving small community and neighbourhood groups; schools; colleges; police; prison service; health; social care; and local authorities.
Training particularly included all aspects related to HIV/AIDS; Hepatitis; Sexually Transmitted Infections; Tuberculosis (TB), and issues regarding Sexual Health; Care & Health; Working as a Volunteer; Health & Safety; Confidentiality; Children & Families; Asylum Seekers/Refugees; BME communities; and legal obligations under the ‘Disability Discrimination Act’, to develop knowledge, awareness and improve working practices.
In addition, was responsible for recruitment and training of Volunteers, helping to secure 'Investing in Volunteers' for the agency; and also Health & Safety at Work; Publicity/Promotion/Media Work.

- 'Volunteering, Volunteering Development and Youth Volunteering': As part of my work as a 'Volunteering Development Officer' with 'Leicester Volunteer Bureau' ('Voluntary Action Leicester', 1989); as 'Youth Volunteer Development Manager/Project Co-ordinator' with the vinvolved team' for Leicestershire & Rutland (June 2008 - Present); and as 'Training & Development Manager' for 'Leicestershire AIDS Support Services' (1989-2008), I have provided much training regarding aspects of volunteering generally, youth volunteering, and volunteering development, good practice, legal and safeguarding issues.
