SPORTS COACHING

Previously employed as a 'Sports Instructor' with 'In2Sports', a company established in 1999 to act as a partner and deliver sports services for and on behalf of individuals and organisations across the voluntary, public and private sectors. Using 'Sport as a Vehicle', it contributes to a range of social issues, including health improvement, education, crime reduction and social cohesion.

Particularly involved as a 'UK Athletics' Level 2 (significantly  working towards Level 3) Athletics Coach, especially relating to children and young people, including the FUNdamentals of Movement; Speed, Agility and Quickness; and also Strength & Conditioning. Additional qualifications and experience in Weight Training and Circuit Training.

Previous experience has also included pre-school gym and Fundamentals of Movement, 'tots tumbling', recreational gymnastics and movement, especially with children.

INSTRUCTING AND COACHING EXPERIENCE:

- 'In2Sports Limited' - Sports Instructor: Duties included devising, planning and delivering multi-sports-related sessions for a range of children & young people, including adults who work with young people, in a varity of settings, particularly schools (Breakfast clubs, Lunchtime clubs, After School clubs & covering and delivering PE curriculum); also  'Fundamentals' sessions with early-years (2-5 yrs), working with around 300 children a week (2-11 yrs), primarily in two Primary Schools. (F/T, 26th March 2008 - 23rd May 2008).

- Hornsey YMCA - 'Regular pre-school gym, movement; recreational gymnastics and sport-related sessions, particularly for 4-11 year olds at the YMCA and within local schools; and two-week Playscheme for 5-14 year olds at a local school (P/T, Sept 1986-May 1987).

- London Central YMCA - Circuit Training & Weight Training Instructor: Numerous regular Circuit Training classes and Weight Training programmes, including Introduction to Weight Training 8-week programmes for unemployed young people; as well as assisting the 'Teaching The Teachers' Programme which included sessions for the British Olympic Sailing Squad and a major company (P/T, June 1986-Sept 1989).

- Croydon YMCA - Circuit Training & Pre-School Gym Instructor: Organising and running fun and developmental movement, exercise and gym sessions for pre-school children; and planning and running Circuit Training classes for adults (P/T, 1987).

- 'OWLS Athletics Club', Leicester: UK Athletics Level 2 Coach, working towards Level 3, regularly involved in working with young people (February 2005 to present). 

- Harborough District Council - Youth Games 2006 & 2007, Year 5/6 (9-11 year olds) Athletics Team: Coach & Team Manager recruiting and running a number of sessions to select and train the Year 5/6 Athletics Team to represent the District of Harborough at the 'Leicester-Shire & Rutland Youth Games' in 2006 & 2007, winning Silver Medal in 2007.

- Redlands Primary School, Sileby: Running after-school athletics-related sessions for Year 3/4 (7-9 year olds) and Year 5/6 (9-11 year olds).
