YOUTH GAMES- 25th JUNE 2006 at Loughborough University.
Harborough District - Year 5/6 - Athletics Team:
Three sessions were initially held at Harborough Leisure Centre led by team manager/coach Gordon Warren (for any Year 5/6 girl or boy who lives or goes to school in the District of Harborough) to select the Year 5/6 Athletics Team (6 boys/6 girls) to represent the District of Harborough, Leicestershire, at the Leicester-Shire & Rutland Youth Games 2006, with a total of 31 young people attending.

Following team selection, a further two training/coaching sessions for the team were held before the Youth Games itself.

At the Event, the team came 5th overall out of 10 teams and had a couple of good victories, especially in the girls 600m and the mixed 4 x 100m Relays, and some good committed performances.
Thank you to everyone involved, especially athletes, parents, Ineke Ward, Sports Development Officer, at Harborough District Council and Todd Canham who assisted with trials/coaching.
