'COMMUNITY CHAMPIONS' GRANT:

The 'Community Champions Fund' was set up by the Department for Education & Skills (DfES) to support and develop the involvement of local people who want to make a difference in their local communities and to also help support the personal development of those involved in community activity.

The £1477.94 grant I successfully was awarded in September 2006 (administered by the 'Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Community Foundation') will pay for my continuing learning and education through the 'UK Athletics Level 3' coaching qualification; 'SAQ - Speed, Agility & Quickness' and also enable me to obtain specialist athletics equipment to support the training and the involvements I have within athletics, particularly with children and young people.
